LineUp BB Theme

LineUp

“Oh, I love the nightlife,
I got to boogie on the disco ’round, oh yea…”

Forgive me, but “I Love the Nightlife” by Alicia Bridges was constantly playing in my head whilst designing this new theme, lol.

Nonetheless, I’m very proud to introduce LineUp, a dark contemporary theme, accented by a series of lines and bold blue elements. This theme is available in the Bottom Zen and Plus (w/ Hidden Today) styles for 8900 (Curve), 9000 (Bold), 9630 (Tour) and 9700 (Bold) BlackBerry devices. LineUp can be found exclusively in the Shoppe for $5.75 each.

As you may have already noticed, LineUp shares a similar theme layout to Impressions, with only a few design modifications. The overall dark color scheme of LineUp is starkly different from the bright and summery palette featured in Impressions. LineUp features a new white-on-dark-gray icon set; I’ve even redrawn a few icons (e.g. the BBM icon and Profiles/Sounds icons). I can attest that these icons look great in-device and contrast nicely with a multitude of different wallpapers. Speaking of wallpapers, the featured wallpaper in LineUp is a new one I designed a few weeks ago entitled, Strobelines. I really love how this wallpaper turned out, it has a very spacey and abstract feel to it, and it too contrasts very nicely with the icon set featured in this theme. Now, from the preview image featured above one thing that stands out as something different from my past themes, is the inclusion of the Profiles/Sounds icon in the banner. This may not seem like a big deal, but this is the first time in over a year that I’ve actually included that icon in the banner of a new theme. *throws confetti*

While the battery, signal and volume meters in LineUp may ‘appear’ to just be the stock ones featured in RIM’s Precision themes, they aren’t. I’ve actually recreated them from scratch and included very subtle differences to help them match more wholly with the general color scheme featured in LineUp. The semi-transparent dialog boxes/menus and buttons received a similar ‘reincarnation’ treatment.

As mentioned above, LineUp is available in two different theme styles, Bottom Zen and Plus. Both styles feature 6 user customizable icons on the Home Screen. However, the Plus style also includes a Hidden Today section that work in tandem with the first 5 user customizable icons; simply place your Calendar, Messages, Phone and/or SMS icons in any of these slots in order to view and scroll to 4-5 preview ‘Today’ entries. Oh, and the message list fonts are user customizable; your settings in Options->Screen/Keyboard.

Overall, LineUp is one of my favorite themes that I’ve developed so far. It’s clean yet funky all at the same time, and not to mention, very wallpaper friendly…by now, all you guys and gals know how I roll, lol! Hope everyone enjoys the theme!

*throws more confetti just for the hell of it* :-p

Oh, and be sure to check out my ‘BB ScreenShot of Day’ posts and Twitter page for examples of LineUp being used with a variety of different wallpapers.

Notice: I do not distribute the original wallpapers featured in my themes. I design these wallpapers specifically for their designated theme only. As such, these wallpapers are only available within the themes themselves; they are not available separately and/or à la carte. Sorry.
