Downtown BB Theme
Simplicity is key.
With a new season (usually) comes a new theme here at artistic-me.com. And on that note I am proud to present Downtown, a minimalistic theme, accented by a simple city skyline and a gray-orange color palette; perfect for Fall/Autumn. It is available in the Hidden Dock and Plus (w/Hidden Today) styles for 8900 (Curve), 9000 (Bold), 9630 (Tour) and 9700 (Bold) BlackBerry devices. Downtown can be found exclusively in the Theme Shoppe for $5.75 each.
For all of this theme’s simplicity, it was anything but simple to make. The irony of that statement is not lost to me, lol. From designing the wallpapers to coding the .svg files, Downtown proved to be both a joy and a pain to make at times. Nevertheless, I am quite pleased with the end results.
The highlight feature in Downtown is obviously the theme’s hidden dock, which appears when you scroll down from the Profiles icon and will slide back down whilst scrolling back to this icon. The transparent dock features 6 user customizable icons. Meanwhile, the Plus style version of Downtown features both a hidden dock and a hidden today section (w/ 5-6 sub-entries), the latter works in conjunction with the first 5 icon slots. Theme mechanics aside, my favorite feature in Downtown is the background wallpaper; I just love its overall quaint, yet streamline appearance. From the preview images, you will also notice that this theme shares the same dark gray icon set originally featured in LineUp. I loved that icon set so much I was determined to use the icons in another theme, and with the gray-orange color scheme featured in Downtown, everything just came together on that end. Per usual, all graphics and such are custom made by yours truly. Also, due to the hidden dock, Downtown can also convert into a Blank Homescreen theme in a jiffy. 
Now, obviously Downtown is by far the most wallpaper friendly theme to be featured here at artistic-me.com. I mean really, I’ve been hard pressed to find a wallpaper that didn’t go well with this theme. And while the orange elements featured in this theme were originally intended to coordinate with the Fall scene featured in the theme’s Home Screen wallpaper (and w/ the Autumn season, in general); I found these orange elements to be a bold local color that can be accentuated year-round, with a host of different wallpapers.
All in all, Downtown is simply a must-have theme for the Fall (and beyond)! Hope you all enjoy it!
sort-of OT: An episode of Seinfeld and the song “Downtown” by Petula Clark were my inspiration when naming this theme, lol.
